Create and switch wardrobes

Quick answer: You can keep separate wardrobes for different people, locations, or collections. A new wardrobe can use the default options, copy another wardrobe's option structure, or start empty.

Open the wardrobe menu

  1. Open Closet.
  2. Tap the wardrobe name at the top.
  3. Use the checkmark to identify the current wardrobe, the gear to manage wardrobes, or + to create one.

Create a wardrobe

  1. Tap + in the wardrobe menu.
  2. Enter a unique, non-empty name.
  3. Choose how to initialise it:
  • System Default: use the standard DressWise categories and options.
  • Copy Another Closet: copy the selected wardrobe’s option structure, not all its items.
  • Empty: start without preset options.
  1. Confirm and wait for initialisation.
  2. DressWise switches to the new wardrobe when creation succeeds.

If initialisation fails, the incomplete wardrobe is rolled back. Check the connection before trying again.

Switch wardrobes

  1. Tap the current wardrobe name.
  2. Select another wardrobe.
  3. Wait for Closet to refresh.
  4. Reopen the menu and confirm that the checkmark moved.
  5. Check the item count and names.

Switching changes the data used by Outfits, Inspiration, Calendar, Statistics, and AI features.

Confirm it worked

  • The new wardrobe appears in the list and has the current checkmark.
  • Closet content refreshes for the selection.
  • Other features show data from the selected wardrobe.

If it does not work

  • The name cannot be saved: remove leading or trailing spaces and use a unique name.
  • A copied wardrobe has no items: Copy Another Closet copies options, not the item collection.
  • Images are temporarily blank after switching: wait for image sync instead of recreating content.
  • Creation failed: check the network and retry once.
